Dr. Jones and Brandon Young perform biomechanical analysis at Duke University 

Dr. Robert Jones and Brandon Young PT, MPT (our newest member of Impact Orthopaedics Physical Therapy team),visited Duke University's East Campus to capture the throwing biomechanics of Barry Krammes and Adam Burke (Olympic caliber javelin throwers). Dr. Bing Yu, Duke University’s PhD of Biomechanics, was in attendance, along with Duke University’s Javelin Coach BJ Linnenbrink and Jeff Gorski, who is a world renowned Javelin coach.

After braving the cold to capture and tape Barry Krammes and Adam Burke, Dr. Jones and Brandon returned to Impact Orthopaedics Physical Therapy Department to deliver the interpretation of 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional data. Brandon used his knowledge of baseball pitchers biomechanics to cross examine the javelin throw.

The javelin biomechanical analysis was a great success, and was well accepted by all!!!!

Congratulations Blake for a great US qualifying tournament!!!

  He beat a top 200 player in the 1st round and lost a hard fought match in the second round to the number 23 seed, currently ranked 141 in the world.  Follow Blake's road to the US Open on the tennis channel this month.  They will be running a documentary on what it takes to make it to the US Open.  Click the following link to see a promo.

Jeff our Sports Physical Therapist has been working with Strode in preparation for his season.  Jeff will be traveling with Blake for the tournament in NYC!!
