Dr. Robert G. Jones is the owner andPresident of Impact Orthopaedics, P.A. He specializes in orthopaedic and sports medicine, arthroscopy, and joint reconstruction.
Dr. Jones is a native of Knoxville,Tennessee.He graduated from UNC- Chapel Hill, where he was a varsity track and field letterman.Dr. Jones made the decision to pursue medicine after a pole-vaulting accident abruptly ended his athletic career. He completed his medical school education at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dr. Jones has practiced orthopaedics and sports medicine in Raleigh for ten years. He has been involved with the care of athletes of all types and levels. He has served as the orthopaedic team physician for many high schools, colleges, and professional sporting organizations, including SoutheastRaleighHigh School, LeesvilleRoadHigh School, CampbellUniversity, Carolina Cobras Arena Football, the North Carolina Ballet, and USA Baseball.He serves as Medical Director of one international and several national track and field meets.
Dr. Jones volunteers his medical services at the Raleigh Rescue Mission, the Salvation Army, and Urban Ministries of WakeCounty. He has served as camp physician for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and CampSea Gull. Dr. Jones and his wife Lisa have four children.Dr. Jones is an avid triathlete, marathoner, and sports enthusiast.
